Get INVOLVED!

Thank you for your interest in “Harmonization” Summer Camp 2009. As a community-oriented project, HSC09 can never succeed without the constructive support of people who are enthusiastic about and committed to making a change in the community like you. There are various ways you can contribute to HSC09 in particularly, and to the enhancement of children with mental disabilities in general.

"Harmonization" Summer Camp Mentor
Responsibilities
  • Attend a 4-day summer camp in mid-July at a suburban area of Hanoi (date and location TBA). This is a full-time position that requires absolute commitment to the child you are paired up with.
  • Be a active participant in designing, planning and involving in activities (sports, arts and recreation) for children with intellectual disabilities
  • Be a supportive mentor who supports, motivates and inspires the CID on their ways to integrate into the community
  • Attend training sessions given by special needs teachers to acquire essential knowledge and skills to communicate with the CID
  • Attend meetings with supervisors to work on project logistics
  • Conduct a brief evaluation of the progress of the CID during the summer camp
  • Keep a journal that track their activities at HSC09, and if possible, contribute to the project’s online blog
Skills Required
  • Previous experience in community services and/or volunteer works
  • Desired skills: communication, organization, teamwork
  • A strong sense of passion and enthusiasm
  • Demonstrated willingness to learn and grow themselves
  • Experience or interest related to intellectual disabilities a plus, but not required

  • Translate the information into Vietnamese
  • Organize the translated information into a systematic and accessible order
  • Spread the words about the mission of the website
Skills Required
  • A good qualification in written English
  • Familiarity with the Internet, particularly good searching skills
